A World In Motion®

A World In Motion® curriculum joins together teachers, students and industry volunteers to bring authentic engineering design experiences into the classroom. This interactive learning experience simulates the work of a scientist or engineer to bring math and science principles to life. Laws of physics, motion, flight and electronics are learned and then demonstrated as students build cars, skimmers, and gliders and conduct experiments with electricity and electronics.

SAE International provides the AWIM curriculum and classroom materials at no cost to Montana teachers. The program consists of hands-on physical science curricula for all grade levels:

The role of volunteers is essential to the success of A World In Motion®. Volunteer mentors bring real-world experiences into the classroom and inspire the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

A World In Motion® is brought to you by SAE International and is funded through the SAE Foundation.

AWIM Introduces New Fuel Cell Challenge

Fuel cell challengeThe newest AWIM activity introduces middle school students to the development and use of fuel cells, types of fuel cells, and hands-on experiments with a PEM (proton exchange membrane) fuel cell to produce electricity to power an electric motor.

The Fuel Cell activity will play a key role in helping to introduce students to the fundamental skills necessary for a future green energy career.
